The Automotive Industry Innovation Council (AIIC) provides advice to the Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science, Research and Tertiary Education and acts as an innovation advocate for the industry

AusIndustry is a specialist program delivery division within the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research and a key source of information and referral for Australian business. It delivers a range of business programs – including innovation grants, tax and duty concessions, small business development, industry support and venture capital – worth around $2 billion a year.

Energy Efficiency Opportunities Program (EEO)

The Energy Efficiency Opportunities program (EEO) is a national program which encourages large energy-using businesses to improve their energy efficiency. It does this by requiring businesses to identify, evaluate and report publicly on cost effective energy savings opportunities.

ForestWorks is an Industry Skills Council consisting of government, industry and training representatives and which reports to the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).

Future Manufacturing Industry Innovation Council (FMIIC)

The FMIIC is made up of representatives from government, industry, research, unions and professional associations and is one of a number of Industry Innovation Councils established by the Australian Government through the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE).

IP (Intellectual Property) Australia

IP Australia fast-tracks eligible patent applications for green technologies where an environmental benefit can be shown. Green innovation requires significant investment by industry and the Australian Government wants to give businesses all the support it can.

Manufacturing Skills Australia is a national Industry Skills Council which aims to ensure that the skills needs of manufacturing enterprises are being met. They are owned by industry and managed by a board from across industry, funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).

NMI is Australia’s peak measurement body responsible for biological, chemical, legal, physical and trade measurement.

The NT Government runs the ecoBiz NT program and covers energy efficiency policy in the ‘Greening the Territory’ Policy.

Pulp and Paper Industry Innovation Council

The Pulp and Paper Industry Innovation Council provides the Minister for Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education with strategic advice on priorities for innovation opportunities in pulp and paper manufacturing. The council is made up of government, industry, training and research representatives.

Queensland Government

Energy efficiency programs and policy are coordinated through the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection and the Department of Energy and Water Supply.

South Australian Government

Energy Efficiency Programs are covered by a number of South Australian Government Organisations including Zero Waste SA, Innovate SA and the South Australian Department for Manufacturing, Innovation, Trade, Resources and Energy.

Steel Industry Innovation Council

The Steel Industry Innovation Council is made up of representatives from government, the steel industry, unions and the tertiary sector. The Council supports the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of the Australian steel industry. It provides strategic advice to the Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science, Research and Tertiary Education.

Tasmanian Government

Energy policy is covered by: the Deptartment of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources; the Department of Premier and Cabinet; the Department of Economic Development.

Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council (TLISC)

TLISC is run through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) with representatives from the government, industry sectors and research bodies. Their main aim is to drive the skills and workforce development agenda across the transport and logistics industry.
