Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE)

AusIndustry is a specialist program delivery division within the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research and a key source of information and referral for Australian business. It delivers a range of business programs – including innovation grants, tax and duty concessions, small business development, industry support and venture capital – worth around $2 billion a year.

The Department runs a number of key energy efficiency programs and services for Australian industry, including:

  • the $1.2 billion Clean Technology Program which will provide support for manufacturers to invest in energy efficient equipment, processes and products to reduce their exposure to changing electricity prices.
  • support from AusIndustry from more than 20 offices across Australia, including 15 regional offices. AusIndustry is a key source of information and referral over a range of areas, including energy efficiency.   • business.gov.au, which is a whole-of-government service providing information on planning, starting and growing businesses in Australia and hosts a ‘Grants and Assistance Finder’ on their home page (right hand column) for easy access to government grants.   • Enterprise Connect offers comprehensive advice and support to eligible Australian small and medium-sized enterprises to help them transform and reach their full potential.
